Today, my wife insisted that I spend some time in 'the Train Garden', she didn't want some of the trees getting away on us.
If it was too tall, it got lopped down to size, if it looked ugly, rubbish bin. If it was dead, then arborative surgery to revive it (that spelling mistake didn't work, so abortive surgery was the answer).
By product of all this, some 'new' views

The Taita Gorge Railway has survived a M7.5 earthquake overnight, and numerous aftershocks, one as big as M6.8, and lots of M6.2's.

Strange phenomena, just after the quake, I was checking on my section (and railway, of course) courtesy of my Union Pacific Switchman's lantern, and found my lawn teeming with snails.
Perhaps the locusts were in short supply?

This corner of my railway only sees this amount of strong sunshine for about 4 weeks of the year. This week is one of them.
Of course, it is Christmas next week, so Taita Gorge Railway is getting ready for an influx of passengers.

My O&K Feldbahn loco has been repowered. Old motor lasted 14 years, still goes, just, so time to upgrade.
Yes. Original version, that don't work, and the newer version that I picked up of Trade Me a while back.
The logging Caboose has been converted to link and pin couplers. I now use an LGB drawbar to connect all my logging stock.
That Bachmann coupler won't be in service much longer.
