Hello folks,

I've been doing some more work, here are some of the latest pics.

I have concerntrated on the older cab version of late, as the lump on the new cab I tried to build out of body filler has failed again so its back to the drawing board for that idea.

First pic is what the vents look like on the top with a little pipe detail.

secondly and third are the additional details of the pantograph area, mostly bits of lego utilised for this.

Hello Folks,
Been a while again, Thats the problem with only havig 24hrs in a day, just not enough time to get everything done.

Any how, What I have been donig is trying to work out how to finish the cab mark 2. I have one idea left if that fails I'll shelve it.

The other thing I have been doing is started painting the bits that are nearer completion. Which are the 3 middle coaches and the mark 1 cabs. All were masked off and the roof sprayed with red primer to give it a nice deep red when finished. Once this was dry I used Rover flame red to paint the roof and cab sections. I know people will tell me I should have started with the lightest colour first, I should have to be fair. The problem was to get my dimensions right I needed to mask off the roof first. Once it was masked off for the primer it made sense to leave it masked and spray the roof red.

These are pics of a couple of vehicles so far. They need a little tidying before I mask off the red to spray the grey bits silver. The cab has its glazing in as I decided the interior will stay primer grey so I did not want the inside getting all red. So I glazed it and applied maskol.

Having been offline for a while with computer issues, my first job is to update this ongoing saga. The good news is its really taking shape now with a light at the end of the tunnel. Bad news is I am waiting for some more trimline to finish the detail on the doors.

took what I've done outside to get a few photos on the test bed today.

All doors have been sprayed a dark metalic grey, and then some have had the white stripes added, rest of doors awaiting more tirmline tape. 2 of the coaches have had their orange cant rail lining done, all have had their AC vents painted silver.

I need to finsih the detail, then glaze the saloons. I also need to add yellow warning panels to the cabs. Then It'll be add some basic interiors.

Thses last 2 photos show how the added roof detail stop the roof from looking boring, and make it look less like an LCE that has just had a repaint.

Hopefully the next update will show a finished article with some transfers that I've ordered applied too.

Totally transformed! And a decent sized train too. Not an easy job doing all that cutting out either. Nice finishing touches too - plenty to admire (and add to wish list). Well done.

Thanks for the nice comments,

Does anyone know where I can buy cheap seating, It does not have to look prototype or anyting just somewhere for passengers to sit?

My idea to scrtach build my own has gone out the window as I'm now fed up of chopping mass bits of the same it gets Very repetative and boring.

cant you just slice up some plastic angle into the width you want single or double seats, spray the whole lot together in fetching grey when still wet spray some red at a great distance to give a blotchy pattern effect. you can even use it to make tables. simples
Tony
Nice project by the way

OK folks, here are some piccies of This loooong standing project.

Its taken forever but the end result is pretty good. I have the seating ready to go in but rather than install it I decided to go into the garden in the sunshine and take a few pics.

What has been done since the last post:

I finished the trimline on all the doors. I finished the orange cnat rail lines on all vehicles. I sprayed the noses a yellow to look like British type warning panels. I sprayed the virgin white curve onto the cab. I have added a few transfers that I had around the place to give it a little more in the way of detail. Oh I also managed to figure out how to get a varnish to look decent, and added glazing to all the windows.

So apart from the seating inside she's finished.

Hope you like the photos, Sorry they were such a long time coming.
