It was 70F here in NW Florida today, but sort of dampish. Never mind, trains had to be run to start the New Year.
First some shots of East Burnham station with a passenger train in the bay with 1921 in charge, waiting for the goods train behind 1929 to clear the station en route to Beaconsfield.

Then some things I've been working on over Christmas.
The milk churn van (a sort of narrow gauge GW 4 wheeled siphon!).  Just awaiting some transfers from Stan Cedarleaf, and the brake gear to be added.  ...and some more churns.  These are made out of eye drop containers, so a fairly endless supply.

Then the cattle van has been repainted into SBLR colours (from GW) and is also awaiting transfers from Stan.  Then a touch up to the weathering.

Lastly a very slightly modified LGB van I picked up from Ebay.  Added roof joints, strapping on the sides, running boards and of course chopper couplings. Also awaiting brake gear and some work on the door fastening, replacing the LGB toy handle with some chain.  It has some transfers, but I think I'll redo these when Stan's pack arrives, hopefully in time for this weekend.

Now, I just have the rest of the stock to repaint, and must get to work on the Peckett 0-4-0 befor the weather starts getting nice again!

Two super looking trains of stock there, The eye drop milk churns are an excellent idea, so obvious now you mention it :nerd: wish I had thought of it when I was based in a hospital and threw them away on a daily basis :wits:

Good to catch up with the South Bucks again, Martin. Takes me back to my childhood years in Windsor - wish there really had been a local narrow gauge line to ride on instead of the bus service to Beaconsfield. Great new wagons, too.

Excellent stuff Matin.

Wouldn't mind some more info on your eye drop container to milk churn conversions mate. My missus has eye drop containers all over the house.

OK Gareth, here you go .....milk churns.
This is the raw material, as it were.

Tops are cut off, and a circular blanking cap glued on. The handles are separated staples from my staple gun. A couple of holes made with a small drill in a pin check and then push the 'handles' into place. A quick paint over with a Games Workshop Mithras silver, and away you go. If They were going to be on the platform, in the open I'd take more care, but they are going to inside the Churn Wagon, so I just want to give an idea of what's there.

...and while I'm at it, the new transfers for the box van have arrived. Still needs the brake gear, weathering, chain on the door fastening and a spray of matt varnish.
