About a year ago, the world chip shortage caused a sudden escalation in the price of the processor chips we use in our Premium soundcards. In a few weeks they leapt in price from US$4 to around US$70. To continue offering our Premium soundcards would pushed the retail price up to an unacceptable level. Therefore we introduced our Classic soundcards which used a different (and smaller) processor to keep the price down at the cost of removing some non-core features. These have sold well and are still available.
However, our buying price for the high power processors has now returned to normal levels and so the Premium soundcards are back at a sensible price. You can get them through Fosworks and Micron Radio Control in England, LocoControl in Scotland, G Scale Graphics in North America and GB-Modellbau in Germany.
