Though why three big, black screws in the rear of the cab? :(

Difficult to find a rear view of the 1:1 loco to check whether they're scale screws :p :p

Voila - here is the V10 C from the Prignitz on 750 mm track.
Note the outside frame with the counterweights. The 1000 mm variant like the HSB version has the inside frame.

And we used to call late 60s early 70s vintage Caddies, Gran Villes, and Caprices land yachts!;)

I really like this loco. I have it since last summer and it is indeed a shame about the three screws. But mixing red and yellow paint to find the correct color is a simple solution. I've also given some color to the details in the cabin. And to have more traction I changed the tire for a Piko which is slightly thicker.

The air intake on the bonnet pulls out and exposes a screw head for volume control. I wonder how many bits will get lost!
It is a reasonably heavy loco and I guess it will pull more than the original, but maybe not up my new spiral. It walked it, easily, with 3 four wheelers though.
Now, the Mfx decoder. You need to be careful using anything but Marklin gear but it is easy enough without. With the Massoth kit I find it easiest to work with individual CVs rather than allowing the system software to change a range of CVs. Or just get your dealer to do it for you.
CV50 selects which operating systems are 'on'. The default is everything being on. Reduce this CV value by 8 and you switch off Mfx.
CV1 sets the address. From 1 to 127 I think. I used 68, the end of its running number. If you want to go higher you need to adjust CV17, 18 and 29.
This is where the standard non Marklin software can lead you astray if you let it try to do everything for you. I did it as an experiment and it changed CV18 to 0, it should have stayed at 128 - the default. Easy to correct if you checked it first! With the wrong value in CV128, your loco wont work!
If you want to play with some of the higher CVs (and you probably never would want to), you need to unlock them by adjusting specific CVs. - it is all in the instructions.

Was there a CV that allows it to run on an old Serial MTS 1 or 2 setup with 14 speed steps?

I wouldn't know for certain, but I would doubt it....

I am unsure if it would work with pre P LgB. However as serial is just a different way of sending the packet would it work? After all serial locomotives did work on LGB P system. B Big Trak does not declare where he lives, I have a reasonably modern Marklin LGB loco that could be tried if you are anywhere near St.Neots. PM me if you are, include your phone number we may be able to arrange something.

I have a Parallel MTS 2 system which I use on my portable shunting layout, Hardyard Jon.

So we might be able to help Big Trak if we pool our resources....
