Had another idea in the wee (literally) hours of the morning: buy a Van Der Graaff generator, postage might be high and I don't know how you would get it in under SWMBO's radar but the biggest problem would probably be the constant zapping and the smell of ozone.

Not to mention the bushy hairstyle, bulging eyes, blue flashes from the railway... Interrupted with manic screams.. "It lives!..":rofl::rofl:

Couldn't you just create some static in a plastic rod or something?

What, didn't you learn this at school? Okay, dad was a physics teacher hence the ionization and Van der Graaff references, but:

Yes - but rubbing an ebony stick allowed you to pick up all sorts of things - and that was before I went to school. I only mentioned plastic because some wouldn't know what ebony was (and don't anybody mention ivory):D

Is that a euphemism, and should it be censored ;) :)
I dunno, but every time I glance at this thread title I think .................

.......................that there are quite a few people who would direct that expletive at some machine or other :swear::swear::swear::swear::swear::swear:
