A year or so ago I purchased the following locomotive:

Dollnitz-01.jpg

The loco came factory dcc-fitted and now it's time to install a Massoth sound decoder. Muns has very kindly provided me with a LGB Service Sheet (much better than the Marklin Service Sheet that came with the loco) which confirms that the body needs to come off in order to fit the decoder and speaker.

Looking at the underside of the loco there are 8 visible screws which I have already removed but these do not appear to release the body from the chassis.

Before I start removing some of the other smaller screws (under the steps etc.) wonder if there is anybody out there who has taken one of these locos apart and can tell me how to do this.

Any help would be very much appreciated. Many thanks.

Have you removed the handrails by the cab doors? I cannot remember removing more than the 8 big screws.

As I have just fitted the 65006 sound card to mine, to resurrect an old posting, yes you do need to remove the cab handrails and the eight screws. The position of the screws does not quite correspond to the picture in the PDF above, as at one end the screws are holding in a weight. Also I found it quite hard to locate the track power pins on the loco circuit board, picture below shows where they are for future reference. They are labelled "Tr" but it's hard to see.
